Hi,
Two weeks ago on Mother’s Day, I set up a tiny stall in the back of the Palo Alto Farmer’s Market. It was a long five hours since I set up the stall at 8:30 in the morning and closed up at about 1:00 in the afternoon, but it was worth it. I sold most of my bags and raised almost $300 dollars. I started off the day with a lady giving me four quarters, but soon gained more visitors as the day progressed. Many people opened up their wallets to give just a few dollars and one man with three little girls gave a generous donation of $120. Every cent counts. It was an amazing experience which I will mostly likely have again tomorrow, Sunday- May 25. With Memorial Day coming up, many Americans will want to support the soldiers who protect our country. The Wounded Warrior Project is a great way to support them. Even President Obama has recently agreed that our veterans are not getting the care they need. They have done so much to protect a country that can’t even help them when they return. This is no way to give thanks. As a student ambassador, I want to make a difference and help these soldiers and veterans. Please check out my WWP website (the link is on the About page) to help fundraise. I really appreciate all of your support.
I would like to give a special thanks to Jennifer from the Palo Alto Farmer’s Market who was gracious enough to give me a space where I could set up my stall.
Thank you,
Simran
